My Summer 2023.

This summer has felt like a nice balance between work and play. I’ve been working full-time at a major label here in Nashville which has been an extremely educational and enjoyable opportunity for me. At the same time, in-between trips, I’ve been soaking in the freedom of open summer evenings and weekends with friends. I’ve been going to new coffee shops, visiting flea markets and vintage fairs, taking drives in the country — just trying to make the most of this quieter, slower season. I must say, summer in the south is like no other. It’s gorgeous and grueling at the same time. It’s presented me with great photographing opportunities, literally in my own backyard, accompanied by dozens of mosquito bites and liters of sweat. But overall, it has been a good few months.

Three days after finals ended, I headed to Laguna Beach, FL with 60 other students for a week-long conference. Spent half our days in seminars, the other half on the beach and our nights playing games and exploring.

Florida.

After too long of a stretch without seeing my dogs (and family), I flew home for a much needed 3-week hiatus. Spent most of my time at home and photographing in the east bay.

California.

Capped off the family time with a week on Kauai. Mostly hung around Poipu, relaxing and enjoying time with my extended family — there were 14 of us in total. However, the chaos doesn’t exactly compete with these serene sunsets and mellow surf photographs.

Hawaii.

Spent majority of my summer living and interning in the beautiful, buggy south. Had more of a traditional work schedule this summer but I have found that sometimes the structure leaves more room for spontaneity and creation than the chaos does. Doing my best to maintain creative consistency.

Nashville.
